Origin of Sweep Lottery | Singapore Pools
In 1969s Singapore initiated the Sweep Lottery for the construction of our first National Stadium in Singapore. Singapore Pools launched Sweep Lotto as Big Sweep. Originally The value of a Sweep ticket mere $1 & first prize was $400,000. Singapore Sweep Results take place on the first Wednesday of every month.
Singapore Pools increased the Sweep Lotto 1st prize amount to $600,000 in 1981. However, in 1982, once again first prize was boosted by a whopping 1 million, which also led to an increase in the ticket cost to S$2. In 1986 the purpose was looking like fulfilled because in that year Singapore Pools gave $45 million to the construction of Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Since 1993 Singapore Sweep Draw consists of the last four Winning Numbers of the 4D Lotto Draw as it still is today.
In 1995 Singapore Pools included more prize structure including a Premium Prize which was a minimum of $99,000. So in this situation, there is a chance of snowballing.
In 1998 Sweep Lotto was relaunched with a new prize structure. Sweep Premium Prize increase to $200,000. Sweep Lotto’s first prize doubled to $2 million in 2004s. Around 9 years later in 2013 Game’s first prize progressively increased to $2.3 million & it is still applying as a 1st prize today.
Until 2018 Sweep Lotto tickets were sold pre-printed and it was Traditional way. But in 2018 Sweep tickets were replaced with on-demand ticket printing which is available on Singapore Pools outlets.
