What is the History of CA Mega Millions Lottery?

The California State Lottery Act of 1984 gave permission to the establishment of the lottery. For almost two centuries sometimes, California Lottery is called one of the “oldest Golden State” Lottery. Where Do the California Lottery Funds Go?

Governor Schwarzenegger signed Assembly Law Bill 142 Hayashi and D-Hayward. Lottery Act amendment bill was funding allocated to public education in California. California lottery generated revenue of $65.8 billion in sales in 2011 and contributed over $24.0 billion to school funds.

California law requires that 87% of State revenue be allocated for winners’ jackpot prizes, top prizes, and State general funds, especially for education departments.

The California Lottery’s mission is to provide supplemental funding to California Publick schools, including Kindergarten and 1-12 community institutes, the State California Universities, and public educational entities.
