A Man Won $50,000 in Kentucky Lottery But His Fiancee Thought He Is Pranking

For a Louisville contractor, a trip to Thorntons on Shelbyville Road turned into a life-changing win. But his fiancee does not believe, it’s real!

The lucky winner, who prefers to remain anonymous, is used to getting tips from his clients. This particular Saturday, one of those tips led him to a lucky Kentucky Lottery scratch-off ticket.

After initially buying a couple of lower-denomination tickets, he decided to take a chance on a $50 Millionaire Club Scratch-off. Scratching away the silver coating at home, his heart leaped seeing the “gold bar” symbol. Because that symbol meant a cool $50,000 prize!

So he became excited and wanted to share the news with his fiancé right away but he could not do so. He told the officials the reason not to tell that good news right away: “My fiancé was sleeping, but I wanted to wake her so badly,” The next morning, his anticipation was so high he woke up earlier than usual – a feat in itself, he admitted. When his fiancé saw him up at the crack of dawn, she knew something was up. “What are you doing? Something is up,” she inquired, her curiosity piqued.

The winner said he tried to break the news gently, suggesting she grab a cup of coffee before he shared his incredible secret. But his efforts were in vain. “She thought it was one of those prank tickets,” he revealed, still a hint of disbelief in his voice. Even after his trip to Kentucky Lottery headquarters and confirmation of the win, his fiancée remained unconvinced. He texted her throughout his journey, anticipating her skepticism.

The lucky man plans to use his winnings for some home repairs and save the rest for the future. Whether his fiancée will finally celebrate his newfound wealth remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure
