A Cass County Player Won Powerball’s $1 Million Prize With Online Purchase

A lucky Michigan resident claimed a cool $1 million prize! The lucky winner bought a $1 million ticket for the March 16 drawing that night Powerball jackpot soared to a staggering $623 million. Tori Simpson, 55, of Marcellus bought a Powerball lucky winning ticket online using the Michigan Lottery app.

Simpson logged into the Michigan Lottery app the morning after the drawing before going to work. She logged in to the lottery app with the thought  “If maybe I won the jackpot and didn’t have to work anymore,” he shared in a recent Michigan Lottery press release. There was no jackpot but a message of an unclaimed jackpot of $1 million.
Seeing that message skipped the beat of Simpson’s heart. His ticket matched all five white balls drawn that night – 12, 23, 44, 57, and 61

Simpson said it may not have been the jackpot, but it was quite shocking. Needless to say, Simpson did not stop to going work.

He intends to use the money to build a new home. The remaining will be allocated towards a secure retirement, providing financial peace of mind for himself and his family.

“Winning a $1 million prize means living comfortably and having a nice financial cushion for me and my family,” Simpson said in the release. The Powerball jackpot has reached dizzying heights, currently standing at an impressive $935 million for Saturday, March 30 drawing.
